The interior Ministry of Belarus said the adoption of the amendments to the criminal code that establish liability for the rehabilitation of Nazism. The position of the Agency was announced by the head of the third control Michael Bedunkovich on the official YouTube channel of the Ministry.

“I want to note that the beginning of our initiative to combat the propaganda of Nazism was the indignation of ordinary people increasingly began to show off their Nazi tattoos and greeting some of our personality. In the Internet began to spread pseudo-historical publications which distort the events of the past, to justify Nazi criminals and their supporters, approve of their horrific crimes,” he explained.

In his Bandukovych, the introduction of criminal liability due to increased risk of action of such persons, “as they are intended to change people’s minds, to change their orientation, to create in them a sense of social enmity and hatred”.

He also added that there is a problem of neo-Nazism, although the movement arose and not in Belarus.

Earlier the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed the law on amendments to the criminal code of the country. The changes affected the 130 article of the criminal code. Now she prescribes punishment till five years of imprisonment for “intentional acts aimed at inciting racial, national, religious enmity or discord, humiliation of national honor and dignity”, and “intentional acts of rehabilitation of Nazism.”
