The leader of the party of supporters of President Vladimir Zelensky “servant of the people” Dmitry Razumkov considers it possible dialogue on the broader use of the Russian language in the Donbass and other regions of the country. He told about it in interview “RBC-Ukraine”.
Razumkov believes that the Russian language in the Donbas and in other regions can become a state and regional. This would correspond to the European Charter of regional languages and the Ukrainian Constitution.
“The only red lines that were drawn and announced by the President, is that the only official language in our country is the Ukrainian language. We do not discuss” — he said.
Earlier in July, Razumkov announced that it would publicly speak Russian, yet Kiev will not regain control over the Crimea and Donbas.
“Until we have occupied territory in the East of the state and annexed the Crimea, during the broadcasts will use Russian language, so nobody wanted to come and I was here to “protect”. I have a good life,as the person who is talking in Russian”, — he explained his position.
Himself Zelensky has told that does not see much of a problem in the status of the Russian language in the Donbas. “We will stop the war, and we need to give people in Donetsk to speak the language in which they want. What is the problem here? We generally do not have this problem,” he said.
On 25 April the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law “On ensuring the functioning of Ukrainian as the state language”.
