The party of ex-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko’s “Batkivshchyna” after processing 93 percent of the ballots in the elections to the Verkhovna Rada bypassed the party of the former President of Petro Poroshenko “European solidarity”. This is evidenced by the data published on the website of the CEC of Ukraine.
Tymoshenko’s party, which had previously occupied the fourth place in the elections, has surged to third place with 8.18% of the votes. “European solidarity” slightly behind her, picking up 8.13 percent. Even a small gap affects the number of seats in the Parliament, who will receive both political parties. So, “Fatherland”, can now count on 24 mandate, and the party Poroshenko — 23. In addition, both parties will get one seat in the Parliament through single-seat districts.
The presidential party “servant of the people” gathered of 43.13 percent of the vote and won 129 single-member districts. In the Parliament of the ninth convocation of the party will be able to form a single-party majority, having received 253 out of 450 parliamentary seats. Second place in the elections is the party “Opposition platform For life”, supported by 13.05 percentage of Ukrainians. Also in Parliament is the party of Svyatoslav Vakarchuk’s “the Voice”, which was supported by 5.85 percent of the vote. While she can count to 20 seats.
Sunday, July 21, Ukraine held an extraordinary elections to the Parliament. The total turnout amounted to 49.84 per cent of the country’s citizens. The vote was held under a mixed system — 251 candidate will enter Parliament on party lists and 199 MPs will be elected in single-mandate constituencies. In the vote was attended by 24 parties and 3220 of candidates in single-mandate constituencies. Final voting results will be posted before 5 August.
