Russia still interfere in the electoral processes in the United States — this statement was made on 23 July, the head of the Federal Bureau of investigation (FBI) Christopher ray at the hearings in the Senate judiciary Committee, reports TASS.
“Russians are absolutely committed to try to interfere in our elections, especially through foreign influence (…) In my opinion, until they are stopped, they do not constrain sufficiently,” said ray.
Earlier that day about the danger of foreign interference in American elections warned the journalists Foreign Affairs. In their view, Congress has not done sufficient work to protect the democratic process, despite the information about the Russian influence on him.
Journalists believe that it is necessary to act in several directions: to eliminate gaps in the law, to protect political power from blackmail and to modify the mechanisms by which elections happen in the country, making them more protected from fraud.
18 April was published the full report of spectracolor Robert Mueller about Russian intervention in the US presidential elections in 2016. The findings suggest that Moscow was really influenced them — in particular, the Russian GRU (GU) gave to WikiLeaks materials of the US Democratic party.
