The new General Prosecutor of Ukraine may become one of the Vice Office of President Vladimir Zelensky. This was stated to journalists by the head of state, reports “Interfax-Ukraine”.
“Since the beginning of my presidential campaign, I said that [Ruslan] Ryaboshapka steep,” said Zelensky and noted that the final decision is still pending.

Zelensky demanded to dismiss the current Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko during his inaugural speech, and in early June, has sent a petition to the Verkhovna Rada. Reason to remove Lutsenko from the post of the President called the lack of attorney General legal education and procedural experience. The Parliament found the performance inconsistent with the requirements and stated that for consideration, a statement of the head of the Supervisory Department, which he didn’t.
Before Lutsenko has stated that he intends to stay with Zelensky at his post to protect the former President Poroshenko and his team from prosecution which he considers illegal, and described as attempts to rewrite the history of the country.
Yuriy Lutsenko is a longtime ally of Poroshenko and heads the Prosecutor General’s office in 2016. He has no legal education, and this position he was able to take only after the upgrade of the Ukrainian legislation. In February of 2012 for committing a series of crimes, Lutsenko was found guilty and sentenced to four years imprisonment. On the freedom he left in April 2013 to pardon, signed who was then President Viktor Yanukovych. A few days after the liberation of Lutsenko became the godfather of Poroshenko, who was then a member of Parliament.
