The government of the Khabarovsk territory said that the cause of the fire in the camp “Kholdomi” could be a towel or gown that fell on the heater, RIA Novosti reported.
“The tents had heaters of the type “wind”, which, according to children, they dried things. Towel or dress fell to the breeze” — said in the government. It noted that, according to the fire, tents burned down “lightning speed.” According to witnesses, the tent burned “like a torch”, the fire rose to a height of 15 meters.
On 23 July it was reported that the cause of the fire could be the heater where children are dry things.
Previously on 24 July it became known that after the fire, the camp decided to close. As reported by the Governor of Khabarovsk territory Sergey Furgal, during the day, the lawyers will prepare the necessary documents.
A fire in a tent camp occurred on the night of July 23, there were 189 people, burnt down 20 of the 26 tents. As a result of fire killed four children. On July 24 in Khabarovsk region declared three days of mourning for the victims. Victims who have suffered grave harm, will receive 400 thousand rubles. Those who got a light injury, will allocate 200 thousand rubles.
The investigative Committee opened a criminal case under part 1 of article 109 of the criminal code (“Causing death on imprudence”) and item “in” parts of 2 articles 238 of the criminal code (“Rendering services not meeting requirements of safety of life and health of consumers”). The head of the tent camp Maxim Kuznetsov and Director of “Extreme Service” Vitaly boatmen are on the case as suspects.
