Over the past 10 years, the temperature on the Taimyr Peninsula increased by 1.2 degrees, and this is above the average in Russia and in the world. About it RIA Novosti reported, leading researcher of the Main geophysical Observatory im. Voeikov Andrey Kiselev.
“One of the most warming points — Taimyr. The closer to the North, the faster the increase of temperature,” he said.
The scientist noted that the warming trend in the region related to global warming. According to him, the reasons for this — not only human activities but also natural, internal changes on the planet.
Earlier, the UN predicted that even in the case of reducing the level of climate warming and a half to two degrees, the Arctic ice will continue to melt, the Global sea level will rise. This is due to the fact that at this rate the temperature in the Arctic by 2050 rise by three to five degrees by 2080-mu — five-nine.
