57-mm automatic cannon uninhabited combat module AU-220M “Baikal” can be used to destroy drones. This was reported by RIA Novosti chief editor of the magazine “Arsenal Fatherland” Victor murakhovski.
According to him, the gun is able to increase the effectiveness of air defense (PVO). “Needed to create guided ammunition that can change the trajectory, to ensure a direct hit or close to goal is problematic for rounds of 30-millimeter guns. Well, 57-mm caliber expands solid field of shrapnel, ensuring the destruction of such small targets like drones,” said the military expert.
According to Murakhovsky, the problem will be solved with the use of guns of high ballistics in a given caliber.
