Turkey plans invasion of Syria

The Minister of defence of Turkey, Hulusi Akar on Thursday, July 25, met with the military to discuss the likely operation in the North of Syria. This was announced by the Ministry, reports Reuters.

The Agency notes that it happened on the next day after warning that Ankara conveyed to US. On July 24 in Turkey indicated that the country has “run out of patience” in negotiations with Washington on the establishment of a security zone in the region.

“We explained our views and referred the queries of the delegation arrived here. Expect that they will appreciate them and give an immediate response,” resulted in the Ministry of the word Akara. The Minister stressed that Turkey will not tolerate any delays and ready if necessary to take the initiative in solving the problem.

Earlier in July it was reported that the Turkish Armed forces dismantled the piece of fence on the border with Syria. The border fence is fully removed to the North of the Syrian border town of tel Abyad in raqqa province. Such actions of the Turkish side was followed about a week after media reported about a new upcoming transaction, Ankara to the East of the Euphrates.

Turkey considers terrorists representatives of the Syrian Kurdish “Democratic Union” (PYD) and their armed wing, the “people’s protection Units” (YPG). They control areas in Northern Syria, they have traditionally supported the US. In December 2018, the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Ankara is preparing a new military operation against terrorists in Syrian territory.

In the beginning of 2018, Turkey announced the beginning of “operation Olive branch” against the forces of the Syrian Kurds in the Afrin. As a result, the district was occupied by Turkish troops and fighting on the side of Ankara’s opposition forces.
