Ukrainian Diaspora in the Czech Republic — the largest in the country suffers from organized crime. Ukrainian citizens extort money from fellow entrepreneurs, it is reported in the annual report of the Czech National centre for combating organized crime, which is published on the website edition iROZHLAS.
As noted in law enforcement bodies, last year in the Russian-speaking community has increased dramatically the number of cases of extortion. “Basically, these crimes are committed by citizens of Ukraine. Their victims are their fellow citizens, doing business in the Czech Republic. They offer “protection” for money, and in case of refusal, threatening them or members of their families living in Ukraine”, — said in the report.
According to the authors of the study, such a practice among Ukrainians was recorded in all regions of the country, except the Central Bohemian, Ústí and Karlovy vary edges.
Ukrainian Diaspora in the Czech Republic, according to various estimates, has from 120 to 140 thousand people.
