President Vladimir Putin signed a law criminalizing interference with work of physicians, including failure to pass ambulance on the roads. The document published on the official portal of legal information.
The text says that any obstruction of the health care provider to assist the patient will be punished by the new article 124.1 of the criminal code. Maximum sanctions on it provide till two years of imprisonment, if the result of negligently caused grave harm to the health of the patient and to four years — if he died. Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm or the threat of death, the physician would entail a five-year sentence.
In the Code of administrative offences (Cao) will be added to article 6.36, which provides a fine of from four to five thousand rubles for the fact of impeding the provision of medical care. For failure to provide the benefits of moving ambulances violators will be fined in the amount of five thousand rubles or to deprive of the rights for a period of one year.
The law was passed by the Parliament on July 16 and was a response to the numerous attacks of the Russians on ambulance workers.
