He added that while site selection is important factor was weather conditions. It was assumed that the selected location will be 310 days of sunshine a year.

Rogozin stressed that, despite the prevailing conditions, the works are on schedule, construction will be completed in 2022, 2023 will be launched rocket “Angara”.

Previously owned by Grigory Berezkin RBC wrote that the owner of Crocus Group Araz Agalarov refused to participate in the construction, considering it disadvantageous for the company. From this idea was abandoned Gennady Timchenko and Arkady Rotenberg and their structure “Stroytransgaz” and “SGM”. According to Agalarov, to finish the second phase in two years is impossible with the current funding.

The construction of the cosmodrome began in 2012. By the beginning of 2019 was completed only 25 percent of the project. In March, Dmitry Rogozin assured that the first phase of the East are actually ready, and funds for the construction of the second received.
