The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia responded to the statement from the German Embassy about the need to hold fair regional elections. This is stated in the Twitter-account Department.

Diplomats urged the representatives of Germany to comply with the Vienna Convention and not to interfere in the internal Affairs of sovereign States. “You just don’t got enough to worry about?” — asked the Russian foreign Ministry.

Earlier on 26 July, the Embassy of Germany in Twitter expressed their concern due to non-admission at the regional elections the opposition candidates. “Russian citizens should be allowed to choose fairly and freely,” — concluded in the German Embassy.

A single day of voting, which in some regions will elect deputies of the state Duma, heads of regions and deputies of legislative bodies of state power, will be held on 8 September 2019. July 16, the district election Commission refused to register several independent candidates for the Moscow city Duma.

According to the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations of 1961, diplomats are forbidden to interfere in the internal Affairs of the host country.
