Sailors from Ukraine captured Russian tanker arrived in Moscow

The crew of the detained Ukraine Russian tanker arrived in Moscow. About it reports “Interfax”.

The sailors arrived at the Domodedovo airport on a flight from Chisinau. The ship’s captain Ilya Tabaska told the news Agency that he would not give evidence to the Ukrainian court. He explained that the sailors are not related to the events in the Kerch Strait in the autumn of 2018, so I can’t pass witnesses on the case.

Earlier, the captain said that the ship came into port for repairs and provided all the necessary forms before entering the harbour. Prosecutors had been on the ship a search and seized documents, however, the investigation was coordinated with the Russian Consul in spite of the fact that the ship under the Russian flag is a Russian territory.

Russian tanker detained in the port of Izmail of Odessa region on July 25. According to the security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the ship was detained for blocking the Ukrainian ships in the Kerch Strait in November last year.

Later the crew was released. The SBU explained that the seamen did not violate international norms of Maritime law and the laws of Ukraine, therefore, the grounds for their detention there. They went to Kishinev, where he flew to Moscow.
