Vaccines against HPV have wanted to include in the immunization schedule

The Ministry of health supported the inclusion of vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) in the national immunization schedule. This was stated by Deputy Minister of health Tatiana Yakovleva, reports TASS.

“We believe that HPV vaccination, as vaccination other infections should be systematic work, and the most effective and efficient its implementation in the framework of measures to improve National calendar”, — said in response Yakovleva at the request of the Deputy of the state Duma Boris Mendelevich (“United Russia”).

However, higher priority in the Ministry of health called vaccinal prevention for varicella, rotavirus and Haemophilus influenzae. Yakovlev said that rotavirus, meningococcal disease, HPV, chicken pox yet domestic vaccines.

HPV is one of the reasons many tumors, including cervical cancer. To include HPV vaccine in the national immunization schedule proposed by the Director of the National medical research center of Oncology named after N. N. Petrova Ministry of health of Russia Alexey Belyaev due to the fact that the incidence of cervical cancer from 2019 to 2030 could rise twice. The Federation Council recommended to develop and implement a plan to expand the National vaccination calendar in the coming years (from 2020 to 2030), which will be carried out immunization of boys and girls aged 12-13 years against HPV.

In Russia to 2024 will be implemented the national project “Health”, which in total is planned to spend more than 1.7 trillion rubles, 969 billion of them — to fight cancer. It is planned that during this time the mortality from neoplasms will decline from 200,6 to 185 cases per 100 thousand population per year. This will create more than 400 centers outpatient cancer care and re-equipped over 160 dispensaries and hospitals.
