Moldova has lifted restrictions on travel into Russia for members of Parliament and government. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
The corresponding order gave the President of the country Igor Dodon. According to him, the lifting of the ban will allow the Moldovan authorities to better discuss matters of “bilateral agenda” with Russia. What kind of negotiations going on, Dodon said.
Moldova ceased to participate in Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS in March 2017 by the decision of holding then a post of the speaker of Parliament the representative of the Democratic party of Moldova (PDM), Andrian CANDU. This decision was preceded by a diplomatic scandal because of the fact that the Moldovan government has requested the officials not to travel to Russia.
The reason for this recommendation was the name of the inspection officials at the border. The Cabinet of Moldova adopted the decision to give Moscow an official note in which asked to take measures to stop “the abuse of power”.
