One of the Ukrainian military transport aircraft Il-76, which was destroyed in a rocket attack in Libya, ruled by Vladimir Bujalski — pilot from Melitopol, served as a contract. Reports about it “Strenia”.
As told the publication of the Libyan journalist Abdulkader Assad, Bugalski died while trying to save Board documents. The pilot was an army pensioner before retirement, he served as Deputy commander of the 25th brigade of transport aviation. After the overthrow of Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi in 2011 Bujalski commanded by the crew during the evacuation of Ukrainians from Libya.
The fate of the second pilot is not reported.
Also, the publication reported that, on 26 July, the State aviation service of Ukraine has withdrawn the permission to flights of the airline “Europe air”, which owned the aircraft. Presumably this was due to the transportation of smuggled weapons.
Earlier it became known that the Il-76 was carrying arms from UAE for one of the parties to the conflict in Libya. Arms supplier was a private Ukrainian company.
According to the portal avia.pro, Ukrainian military transport aircraft crashed on 26 July, during the battle for the airport of al-Dzhufra between the troops of the government of national unity and the forces of the Libyan national army (LNA) Marshal Khalifa the Haftarot.
Haftar ordered the LDF to launch an offensive in the country’s capital on 4 April. The commander calls the “operation to liberate Tripoli”. During a visit to Paris in late may, he refused to cease fire, despite the request of French President Emmanuel Macron.
In Libya in 2011, civil war began, during which he was overthrown and killed who ruled the country since 1969, by Muammar Gaddafi. Libya, the conflict was in a situation of dual power: on the East in the city of Tobruk, seat of the Parliament, and in the West in Tripoli — the national consensus government.
