The Russian “Night hunters” and “Alligators” attacked the terrorists

Air and space forces of Russia began to apply massive strikes on the positions of militants in a rural area in the northeast Syrian province of Latakia. It is reported by Al Masdar News.

According to the newspaper, the attack in the town of Kabani held helicopters: shock Mi-28N “Night hunter” and reconnaissance and strike Ka-52 “alligator”. On the morning of 31 July, they attacked the strongholds of groups “Hayat Tahrir al-sham” (HTS created on the basis of the banned in Russia “Jabhat al-Nusra) and the Islamic party of Turkestan” (banned in Russia). Their position received serious damage.

It is noted that the strikes came after heavy shelling by Syrian government forces. Currently, the army is trying to weaken the defense of the militants, before you attempt to storm the city. In particular, the military intend to take over the surrounding town and hills.

On the night of 31 July, Syrian army launched an offensive in Hama province.

The civil war in Syria began in spring 2011.
