Trump had hoped for a deal with Russia

The U.S. will conclude an agreement with Russia in the field of arms control, said the American leader Donald trump. It is reported TASS with reference to the channel C-Span.

The US President added that China is currently trying to catch up to the Russian and American sides in the field of armaments.

Earlier the assistant to trump national security John Bolton announced that the Russian-American Treaty on measures for the further reduction and limitation of strategic offensive arms (start-3) is unlikely to be renewed. According to him, the third edition of the start-3 from the beginning, had shortcomings and lacked tactical nuclear weapons short range and the new Russian system of delivery.

In addition, Bolton said that officially withdraw from a Treaty on the elimination of intermediate and shorter-range missiles (INF Treaty) on Friday, August 2.

On 16 July it was reported about the intention of the U.S. to discuss with Russian counterparts the idea of a new agreement on nuclear arms control. Along with this it was noted that to change the policy on the INF Treaty, the American side was not planned.
