The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has accepted the invitation of his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko to visit Belarus. About it reports “Interfax-Ukraine” with reference to the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The report notes that, between the two heads of States held a telephone conversation. During the meeting, Lukashenko suggested Zelensky to visit his country “at any time and in any format.” The Ukrainian leader, in turn, reminded of the earlier sent invite Lukashenka to visit Ukraine in the framework of the second forum of regions of Belarus and Ukraine.
“Lukashenko accepted the invitation, noting that as the initiator and sponsor of this event sees its high efficiency and benefit for the economies of both countries”, — said the press service.
Also during the conversation the President of Belarus congratulated Zelensky with a successful campaign for elections to the Parliament and wished success in further work. Zelensky, in turn, raised the issue of the settlement of the conflict in the Donbass.
In July, Lukashenko supported the proposal Zelensky on an international meeting in Minsk to resolve the problem of Donbass. Then, the press service of Lukashenko said that the Belarusian leader about the need to solve the Ukrainian crisis through dialogue remained unchanged. The President believes that the most effective would be a meeting of leaders of Ukraine and Russia in its mediation. However, he also spoke about the need to engage in the negotiation process of the United States.
