In Moscow in test mode starts the system automatically check the availability of the insurance policy using traffic cameras. About it writes “Kommersant”.
Until the system went into operation, motorists instead of fines will receive letters from the police with a recommendation to take out insurance. Three months of testing the camera detected more than 700 million vehicles without insurance.
According to the publication, today the main problem lies in the lack of a unified database: a list of the insured is RSA, the cameras belong to the TMS, and prescribes penalties of traffic police. “While it is actually a manual reconciliation of the databases” — summed up one of the interlocutors edition.
The penalty for driving without insurance policy today is 800 rubles.
