In Russia the number of deaths in road accidents in the last five years has decreased by almost a third (32.5 per cent). This is evidenced by the results of the study of auditing and consulting network FinExpertiza, arrived in edition “Tapes.ru”.
In 2014, the accident killed 26 963 people, in 2018, that number dropped to 18 214 people. The decrease observed in 83 of 85 subjects.
In the reduction of mortality are the Moscow and Moscow oblast: the researchers note that the number of road accident fatalities in the region fell by almost half over the past five years. Thus, the number of road deaths decreased by 753 in the capital and 423 in the region. In third place — the Rostov region, where the number of fatalities decreased by 338 people per year.
“Contributes to the reduction of deaths on the roads and developing emergency medicine, in addition, cars become safer. In Metropolitan areas there has been an overall decline in speeds,” said a member of the Board of Directors of the network FinExpertiza Agvan Mikaelyan. However, she noted that the most effective in matters of “struggle for saving the lives of drivers and pedestrians” still cameras and stricter traffic rules.
It is noted that “the exceptions to the General rule” were the Magadan oblast (in 2014 in the region killed 29 people, in 2018 — 30 people) and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (the number of deaths of accidents has not changed and amounted to three per year).
