Rosstat recorded a rise in price of bread in Russian stores. In the first seven months of 2019 price growth of 7.7 percent, reports owned by Grigory Berezkin, the Agency RBC.
A year ago the rise in price of bread amounted to only 2.3 percent. This year, prices were rising faster than inflation — the consumer price index for the first seven months of 2019 was equal to five percent.
Latest prices for separate kinds of bread in rubles dated June 2019. Brown bread in June this year, according to Rosstat, the cost 50,54 rubles per kilogram. The increase compared with June last year was 9.6 percent.
White bread and bakery products of wheat flour rose to 75.87 ruble (plus 8.3 percent), black bread and product bakeries from wheat flour of the first and second grades has risen to 49.96 ruble (plus 7.4 percent).
It is noted that these prices are maximum at least since 2009.
Earlier in July it was reported that the main reason for the rise in price of bread was rising prices for raw materials — wheat and flour. In addition, the cost of bread reflected the increase in value added tax from the beginning of the year.
