Of residents of large Russian cities Muscovites, handing over apartments to rent, the least tolerant of tenants of non-Slavic nationalities. This writes the “Novaya Gazeta”.
The journalists analyzed 32 thousands of ads on the delivery of housing in the base of CYANOGEN to identify sentences with xenophobic context. In the sample were those Russian cities that have metro: Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Samara, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod and Yekaterinburg. Incorrect variations are automatically searched for by using keywords, references to “Slavs”, the Russian residents of Russia’s different regions, different nationalities.
It turned out that in Moscow 14 percent of announcements of delivery of apartments in rent contain evidence of discrimination on ethnic grounds. In St. Petersburg such to 3.6 percent in other large cities in the aggregate about five percent.
“The cost of the available options for “non-Slavs” are higher than for those who were lucky enough to meet the requirements of landlords to appearance and nationality, say the authors of the study. — A Federal law prohibiting discrimination on ethnic grounds, in fact not work, because the actual judicial precedent”.
Reporters also noticed that the apartment owners have a vague idea of “Slavs”. Sometimes refers to all the citizens of the Central part of Russia, but also Ukrainians and Belarusians. Sometimes the last diskriminerad because of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, but basically the owners against the tenants of Central Asia and the Caucasus. Perfect tenant, according to the Russian landlord is a married couple of Slavs, without children and animals, with an official job and without bad habits.
In July was named the most unpopular categories of tenants. The top consists of tenants with Pets, visitors from the southern republics of the former USSR and from remote regions of Russia, families with children, people of creative professions and representatives of sexual minorities.
