The conflict between the former President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev and the current government have reached a very dangerous level, said the head of the foreign intelligence Service (SVR) Sergei Naryshkin. It was quoted by RIA Novosti on Thursday, August 8.
He urged parties to the conflict to show restraint. “We, of course, worried about the fate of the country, for the destiny of the brotherly people”, — said Sergey Naryshkin.
On the evening of 7 August, the Kyrgyz special services have begun operation on detention of the former Kyrgyz leader accused of corruption. During the storming of his residence 20 kilometers from the capital, his supporters fired back. As a result, one special forces soldier died in total, according to the latest data, injured 47 people.
Almazbek Atambayev said that the responsibility for the death of a commando carries a current head of state Sooronbai Jeenbekov. He noted that the current government does not want the truth.
The Russian side considers the incident an internal affair of the country, said the Minister.
Atambayev was the head of the Kyrgyzstan in the years 2011-2017. Against him being a parliamentary investigation, he is suspected of corruption, concealment of income and the results premium weapons are members of gangs.
