Ukrainian state company “UkrSpetsExport”, part of “Ukroboronprom”, and the Turkish company Baykar Defence have formed a joint venture that will develop high-precision weapons and aerospace technologies. This was reported on the website of the Council of national security and defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine.
As explained in the national security Council, the main task of the new company will unite the capacity of the defense systems of the two countries for mass production of new models of modern weapons for their own armies.
In particular, one of the first projects should be an unmanned aerial vehicle of a new generation. It is expected that the drone will be able to conduct a detailed exploration of high flight levels, to stay in the air for several hours and develop a significant cruising speed. In addition, the device will be capable of striking a wide range of high-precision weapons, as well as carry a large number of weapons.
In the NSDC said that similar characteristics new drone will provide a wide use of composite materials and digital technologies, as well as engines of Ukrainian origin, is able “to operate in extreme conditions.”
The Ministry stressed that the Turkish and Ukrainian defense enterprises is not the first year cooperate in the field of communication systems, creation of armed drones and aircraft precision weapons.
Earlier in August, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed hope that the cooperation with Turkey will help Kiev to change the situation in the Black sea region.
