The suicide of billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, accused of sexual exploitation of children, raises serious questions. This was stated by U.S. attorney General William Barr, reports The Hill.
“I was shocked to learn that Epstein was found dead early this morning from apparent suicide, when he was in prison,” said Barr. According to him, the death of a billionaire raises “serious questions which need answering”.
The publication stresses that the accused was not under special control the administration of the prison as persons who are prone to suicide.
The U.S. Department of justice and the Federal Bureau of investigation started the investigation about the death of Epstein.
The billionaire’s body was found on Saturday, August 10, at about 7:30 a.m. local time. In July, Epstein already found on the floor of the chamber with markings on the neck.
Epstein was arrested July 6 in new York. He was accused that he created a criminal network that allowed him to sexually exploit and victimize dozens of underage girls. Their crimes, the billionaire has made in 2002-2005. The alleged victims were 14 years old. Epstein also was charged with witness tampering.
