Daily sugar consumption in the diet of Russian children exceeds the rate of one and a half times. This was reported on the website of Rospotrebnadzor.
The Ministry clarified that, according to the results of the research, sugar consumption in children aged three to seven years is 14.5 percent of total calories daily diet, among adolescents, 13% children are older — 12 percent. It is noted that the intake of sugar per day is 10 percent of the daily calorie intake.
In this regard, the Agency recommended that parents pay more attention to the choice of ready meals to kids and pay attention to the labeling. Children can consume added sugar only confectionery, but also cereals with honey, for example, as well as nectars and natural juices.
The experts also noted that the first child should have a nutritious Breakfast, and only then it is possible to give a sweet to prevent the weakness in the classroom.
“The daily diet should consist of food products that meet safety requirements and to characterize the optimal levels of quality, creating conditions for normal growth, physical and intellectual development and functioning”, — concluded the Agency.
