Due to the outbreak in the Irkutsk region and Krasnoyarsk region abundant rainfall it is possible a gradual reduction of forest fires in Siberia. About it RIA Novosti said the head of the forestry Department of the Russian branch of Greenpeace Alexei Yaroshenko.
According to him, the peak of fires in the region passed. “In the two hot regions of the Angara and in the Northern part of the Baikal natural territory today and tomorrow will be much better. There began heavy rains,” said he, adding that the burning of Yakutia due to the dry weather the improvement is not expected.
Yaroshenko pointed out that even the heavy rain does not guarantee a complete ceasefire in the woods. The ecologist pointed out that thanks to them a person will have the ability to get to hard to reach places. “It is dangerous to think that the rain will help to handle the final. In the woods, where a lot of dead wood and peat soil, the fire can smolder for a long time, and under favorable weather conditions, again there’s a fire,” — said the Agency interlocutor. He recalled that in 2016 the Irkutsk region fires ceased to put out after the rains, and soon they lit up again.
A state of emergency because of fires operates in Krasnoyarsk region, Irkutsk region, Buryatia and Yakutia. According to Avialesookhrana on August 12, putting out fires in Siberia occur on the area of 283 thousand hectares, for a further 2.7 million hectares, no fire operations are not conducted.
