Ex-President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev charged with murder and other very serious crimes. It is reported RIA Novosti with reference to the representative of the Kyrgyz Prosecutor General’s office.
In addition to murder, the former head of state accused of organizing mass riots, hostage-taking and violence against a representative of authorities. He faces life imprisonment.
The basis for the charges in the murder was the fact that the Kyrgyz special forces, killed during the storming of the residence Atambayev, was wounded found in the house of the former President of a sniper rifle. “His house was subsequently discovered a large number of different weapons, including rifle SVD. Atambayev admitted that during his detention he was shot six times in my children”, — reports TASS words of the head of the state Committee of national security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS).
Earlier it became known that the national security Committee suggested that a bullet from a sniper rifle that pierced the vital organs of the employee has been released by the supporters of former head of state, since the shot was taken from the house Atambayev.
However, the Atambayev stated that his supporters “did not even have a slingshot” and from the fighting weapon only shot himself. However, he argues that the shot in the air and tried not to get into the commandos.
August 7, Kyrgyz special forces tried to detain Atambayev at his home in the village of Koi-Tash near Bishkek. Supporters of the former President gave battle to the security forces. The next day the special troops tried again to seize the state, and clashes continued. After the third attempt to storm the politician turned himself in to the authorities. In clashes injured 136 people, 14 are in hospital, one commando was killed.
