Germany turns into a greater Germany due to the rise of military power and the strengthening of “fascist elements in society.” This statement was made by the former Prime Minister of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) Hans Modrow in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“If Germany today is transforming into a greater Germany, relying on military power, and there are fascist elements, it should again mean: people, be vigilant,” said Modrow. He also spoke about how he was captured in 1945 when he was 17; he was the “boy Hitler” and was ready to fight with the red Army.
The former Prime Minister of the GDR, he said, came to antifascism once talked personally with soldiers who had no claim to it. Modrow also said about friendship with the Russian neighbor during a training in Moscow.
Hans Modrow, the last Prime Minister of the GDR in 1989-1990. He was one of the reformers in the GDR leadership and was sympathetic to the policies of Mikhail Gorbachev.
