Moscow set up a dialogue in relations with Kiev. That opinion has been shared by the official representative of the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, commenting on a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky, reports on Tuesday, August 13, “Interfax”.
According to a spokesperson, the fact of communication of heads of state can be evaluated “only positively, positively”. “Putin is always a supporter of dialogue to solve pressing problems, especially in neglected situations such as the Russian-Ukrainian relations”, — he said.
The spokesman added that the Russian leader is “very pragmatic source”, which is important not so much the conversation itself, how the implementation, in the process of “understanding” and agreement.
Regular telephone conversations between the presidents of Russia and Ukraine took place in early August, reported by the Ukrainian leader. According to him, in the conversation it was about the death of four on the eve of the Ukrainian military in the Donbass. He said to his Russian counterpart that the incident brings the country to the world. Also, according to him, questions were raised as to return the Ukrainian detainees.
In turn, the Kremlin said that Putin said Zelensky about the need to prevent attacks on Ukrainian troops settlements in the Donbass. Also the Russian leader has been designated the critical importance of consistent implementation of the Minsk agreements, including the legal aspects of the provision of the unrecognized Donetsk and Lugansk national republics special status.
The previous phone conversation between the leaders, also initiated by Kiev, took place on 11 July. The parties discussed the settlement of the conflict in the South-East of Ukraine “Norman format”, as well as the return of detainees held by both sides.
