Atambayev detained Deputy interior Minister fell into disgrace

The military Prosecutor’s office of Kyrgyzstan opened a criminal case against detained ex-President of the country Almazbek Atambayev, a former Kyrgyz Deputy interior Minister Kursan Asanov. It is reported

It is noted that the case was initiated under article 304 of the criminal code of Ukraine (“Abuse of power”). Asanova suspected of treachery which he has committed, allegedly passing on information about the assault on the supporters of Atambaev. The Prosecutor’s office at this point, that Asanov “left the personnel of internal Affairs bodies in danger, and without command, thus grossly violating the requirements of current legislation”. In addition, he is charged with withholding evidence.

Earlier, on 13 August, the Deputy interior Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Asanov dismissed by results of office investigation. The official was dismissed with the formulation “for treachery of interests of the Kyrgyz police and the loss of confidence.”

It Asanov was the one who persuaded the former President Atambayev to stop resistance to law enforcement and surrender to the authorities. In the network published a video which shows how through a closed door Asanov offers Atambayev “finish it” and promises that no one will touch him. “Shoot me, guys don’t touch the main thing,” responds the former President. Deputy interior Minister, in turn, promises that no fire is going. Soon Atambayev accepts his proposal.

August 7, Kyrgyz special forces tried to detain Atambayev at his home in the village of Koi-Tash near Bishkek. Supporters of the former President gave battle to the security forces. The next day the special troops tried again to seize the state, and clashes continued. After the third attempt to storm the politician turned himself in to the authorities. In clashes injured 136 people, 14 are in hospital, one commando was killed.
