In the first half of 2018 in Russia was born out of wedlock more than 340 thousand babies — almost a quarter of the total number of births. This is evidenced by the data of Rosstat, reports RIA Novosti.
According to the Agency, last year, was born on 1 604 344 children, of whom 340 364 (21 percent) of the baby born out of wedlock. Often illegitimate children were born in regions where in 2018 it is not customary to officially register the relations in Tuva (60.4%), Chechnya (41.8%) and Chukotka (40.5 per cent).
It is noted that the least likely out of wedlock children appear in Belgorod and Penza regions (by 13.3 and 12.9 percent, respectively), as well as in Kabardino-Balkaria (10.2%).
Earlier, on August 14, it was reported that the number of registered marriages from January to June 2019 in Russia decreased by 46 thousand compared to the same period of the previous year. The most number of registered marriages has decreased in the Chukotka region — 23 percent.
The number of divorces in 2019 also declined has been reduced by 21.8 percent compared to the same period last year. Specialists of the Federal state statistics service said that this year in Tuva and Ingushetia among newlyweds increased by 2.7 and 2.6 percent, respectively.
