The former leader of Colombia Alvaro Uribe was preparing a plan to assassinate the President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro. This was announced by the leader of the Bolivarian Republic, writes La Vanguardia.
“I learned about the plan, which was led by Alvaro Uribe Velez, with the participation of the Ambassador of Colombia to USA Francisco Santo to send to Venezuela 32 mercenary, so they came and tried to kill me,” said Maduro.
4 August 2018 on the Maduro was an attempted assassination with bombs drones. It happened during a public speech of the President in Caracas. The organizers of the attack — group “Flannel soldiers” — promised to attempt to eliminate Maduro.
Later, the President stated that the order to prepare the attack for his murder gave the former President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos. According to him, the recipient of the order was the Venezuelan opposition leader Julio Borges. He’s also one of those who launched the “mechanisms for the execution of the murder.”
