Russian scientists-Orientalists will be able to get grants from the Russian Foundation for basic research (RFBR) for research on Palestine and the relations of Russia with the Middle East. This was reported on the website of the Fund.
As noted, to apply for grants will be able group of scientists from two to ten people who are engaged in research of historical and cultural heritage of Palestine, the history and current state of interfaith relations of the Russian Orthodox Church in the middle East and the Mediterranean region, as well as research in the field of Byzantine studies and palestiniene.
The maximum grant size will amount to two million rubles, the minimum one million rubles. Apply will be from 5 September to 17 October. The names of the winners of the contest will name up to 15 January 2020.
“The goal of the competition is to support scientific research aimed to study various aspects of centuries of spiritual experience and modern culture of the peoples of Russia and countries of the Middle East, receiving and dissemination of new fundamental scientific knowledge in the field of history, archeology, Ethnography, Philology and the arts”, — explained in RFBR.
The increase in the number of Russian scientists working in Russian organizations and has articles in the leading scientific journals, indexed in international databases, as well as improving Russia’s place in the ranking by the number of researchers in full time equivalent among the leading countries of the world are one of the main tasks of the national project “Science”, which is implemented in Russia at the initiative of President Vladimir Putin. Only on its implementation by 2024 it is planned to allocate more than 625 billion rubles.
