The commander of the aircraft Airbus A321 made an emergency landing in a cornfield in the suburbs, decided not to release the chassis, despite the recommendations of the manufacturer. It is reported owned by Grigory Berezkin RBC with reference to the interviewed experts.
According to them, on the check list from the presentation of Airbus, describing the sequence of actions pilots in emergency situations, there is a recommendation to lower the landing gear when landing on land. “All the recommendations of Boeing or Airbus on the water need to sit down, without letting the chassis, and on the land — releasing. But the commander has the right to make any decisions and is responsible for the result. According to him, the pilot demonstrated his skill, managing to land the plane with two damaged engines without a chassis. Also on the successful outcome of an emergency situation influenced by the fact that near the airport was a corn field and that moist soil is not allowed to occur fire, he said.
Honored pilot of Russia Konstantin Anokhin said that in emergency situations, the commander has the right to deviate from any instructions for a successful landing, if he acts on the basis of their experience. “The commander has the right to safely terminate the flight in any way. Plus flying skill and luck,” he said.
Airbus A321 Ural airlines, flying from Moscow to Simferopol, made an emergency landing at the airport of Zhukovsky, on the morning of 15 August. It happened after 15 seconds after takeoff. According to preliminary information, the reason for stopping the engines was a collision with a flock of seagulls. On Board were 226 passengers and seven crew members. As a result, doctors approached by 55 people, 17 of them children.
