Russian scientists will help develop the energy system of the future

Institute of problems of chemical physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IPCP RAS) acquire new equipment for research and development of materials needed in the creation of advanced energy systems. This was announced by Deputy Director of IPCP RAS Evgeny Votes, reports TASS.

In particular, the Institute plan to purchase a new x-ray diffractometer and equipment for simultaneous thermal analysis, and atomic force microscope combined with infrared spectroscopy.

“The microscope will be used for the entire range of research, but primarily in the studies of membranes for hydrogen fuel cells and advanced solar cells, in particular perovskite films”, — said the Agency interlocutor, adding that in Russia such devices yet.

Votes added that commissioning of purchased equipment in operation may be held early next year.

It is noted that the IPCP has received 73 million rubles following the results of competition the Ministry of education to update the instrument base of leading organizations from the academic sector of science. It is planned that support will get the 111 scientific organizations.

National project “Science” was approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin and should be completed by 2024. Only its implementation is planned to more than 625 billion rubles. In particular, it involves the creation in Russia of 15 scientific and educational centers of the world level, commissioning research facilities class “magicians” and the formation of an integrated system of training scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel.
