The first President of the Chechen Republic Akhmat-Hajji Kadyrov during talks with the Russian leadership refused to sign the instrument of accession to Russia without a national referendum. About his son, the current head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov said in an interview with journalist Ruslan Kurbanov, which is published on the YouTube channel On TV.
According to him, when his father asked whether he would sign a corresponding agreement, he replied: “No, I have to ask his people.” The head of Chechnya said that Kadyrov-senior was always agreed with his people, come from and family.
“When we hold a referendum, and if my people will vote for this paper, I will say that Yes, we are part of the territory of Russia, only then will I sign a paper” — gave the interviewee the journalist’s quotation of the father.
