The government is considering to abandon the construction of the road on the route Moscow-Kazan and replace it with highway to Vladimir, says family-owned Demyan Kudryavtsev, the newspaper “Vedomosti”.
According to the publication, the principal ideologues of changes in the project are the Ministry of economic development and Minister Maxim Oreshkin. They insist that the reduction route to Vladimir will save the budget about two times to 279 billion rubles.
The entire project will include not only route to Vladimir. It is also proposed to upgrade an existing route M7 Moscow-Ufa: widen to three lanes and build detours, Vladimir, Gorokhovets, Nizhny Novgorod and Cheboksary.
The alternative from the Ministry of Finance provides for the rejection of the construction of new tracks and a more expensive reconstruction of the road M7. In this case, have to spend a total of 120 billion rubles.
New highway to Kazan is included in the comprehensive plan for the modernization and development of infrastructure until 2024, which is part of last year’s may decree of President Vladimir Putin. The final decision on the exact parameters of the construction must be made before the end of August, according to sources of publication.
