The former commander of the special forces Center of FSUE “Protection” of Regardie was sentenced to three and a half years of imprisonment in a penal colony for abuse of office. On Wednesday, August 21, said “the Tape.ru” in the Preobrazhensky court of Moscow.
According to investigators, Lieutenant Colonel Roman Egorov from February to December of 2017 received from one of the founders of the company “M-Video” Paul brieva 2.5 million — 250 thousand rubles a month. For the money the soldiers of the detachment SPC around the clock provided protection for the businessman and his family, although technically the agreement included only the protection of his property. The soldiers lived on the estate of the businessman, and was accompanied by Breeva, and his wife and children on all trips in Moscow and the Moscow region.
The investigation regarded the actions of the Colonel as receiving bribes. The state prosecution asked the officer to 10 years imprisonment and a fine of five million rubles. The court, however, with this interpretation did not agree and dismissed the charges of accepting bribes, changing the article of the charge to another, more lenient “abuse of power”.
The punishment was administered with the merit of the Novel Egorova (he is a combat veteran, participant of the liberation of the hostages “Nord-OST”, his dependents are elderly parents and three young children), as well as the fact that the actions of officer material damage to Regardie caused was not.
The crime was revealed during investigation in the criminal case about the shooting in “Moscow-city” in November of 2017, joined by forces of FSUE “Protection”. As a result, five people were seriously injured, one after the medical care was released, but in four days died from the wound. Yegorov himself was arrested in may 2018, when the detachment was disbanded.
