The national anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) closed criminal proceedings against the film Studio President Vladimir Zelensky “Cenacarta” about a possible embezzlement of public funds. About it reports the edition “Ukrainian news”.
The response agencies, upon request, States that the case was closed on 8 July. During the preliminary investigation, the staff of the NEB failed to find in “Kinokarte” and the Ukrainian state Committee for cinematography of the violation of the law about embezzlement of state funds in especially large size.
The case against the film company was open to the NEB on April 24, three days after the victory Zelensky in the second round of the presidential election. Prior to that, Agency staff refused to open the proceedings, citing the fact that the actions of the Studio there is no crime. However, in mid-April, the Solomensky district court of Kyiv ordered the Ministry to do so. Thus, the court satisfied the claim of the Chairman of the public organization “Ukrainian self-defense” Oleksandr Dudka, who in December turned to NABOO with the requirement to bring criminal case.
Activist accused Zelensky in the embezzlement of funds because of the film “I, you, he, she” shot company “Cenacarta”. The film was the money spent including the State Agency for the movie. The law for budgetary financing the film must be presented in the Crimean Tatar and Ukrainian languages, however, it was released only in Russian version.
