Major automakers are preparing to increase the price of cars in Russia. The reason was the expiration of the agreement on industrial Assembly, writes “Kommersant”.
As says the publication, which operated the industrial Assembly regime were allowed to import components in favourable conditions, but with the entry of Russia into the world trade organization (WTO) rates under obligations to it were promoted. At the end of 2018, the Russian government has launched subsidies to keep the working conditions of the automakers. Compensation was provided only to companies with existing agreements on industrial Assembly.
However, in 2018, the agreement expired at Hyundai, recently it ended the Alliance Renault-Nissan-AVTOVAZ, United automobile group and KAMAZ-Daimler. As a result “AVTOVAZ” has increased the prices of model Lada, on average, they grew by 0.9 per cent from August 1. Now to raise prices can also Hyundai and Nissan, the newspaper writes.
The agreement continues to act for PSA, Toyota, Volkswagen. According to the Ministry of industry and trade, taking into account component manufacturers in 2019, expect to receive subsidies can more than 60 companies.
In 2020 it is expected widespread and more dramatic increase in the price of cars, because the term of the agreement about industrial Assembly expire all manufacturers components. As the newspaper notes, as a result, their business will be threatened because the import of finished components without benefits will be more profitable from production in Russia.
