In the Novosibirsk region began collecting cedar cones, are intended to restore the victims of forest fires in Siberia. It is reported by OTS (recording available on the website of the TV channel).
It is noted that the area of plantations is about 200 acres, and this season it is planned to collect about two and a half tons of pine seeds. Most of them will leave for landings.
The harvested “crop” will be planted in the nursery, where the seedlings will have to grow to about 14 centimeters, after which they can be moved to plantations. “In 2019 in the Novosibirsk region plan to restore more than six acres of forest”, — stated in the message.
Funds are allocated in the framework of the national project “Ecology”, according to which by 2024 will be restored to 100 percent of felled and dead forests. Area which will be reforested to increase to 1.55 million hectares. While the damage from wildfires will be reduced almost three times — from 32.5 billion to 12.5 billion rubles.
