Poroshenko and Vakarchuk chose a Committee in the Verkhovna Rada

The former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the leader of “Okean Elzy” Svyatoslav Vakarchuk has chosen the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, in which they would like to work. About it reports “Interfax-Ukraine” citing a source in the Secretariat of Parliament.

The leaders of the parties of the “European solidarity” and “Voice” are going to be part of the Committee on foreign Affairs and inter-parliamentary cooperation. Relevant applications from their factions is already registered.

Lead Committee will be the Deputy from party “servant of the people” Bohdan Yaremenko. The representatives of this political force will get it most places — six out of ten.

According to the regulations of the Parliament, places on committees are allocated in proportion to the number of members of parliamentary factions and groups. Earlier edition “Strenia” reported that the political strength of President Vladimir Zelensky will lead 19 of the 22 committees, although the rules she was to go to the 14 committees.

Elections to the Ukrainian Parliament took place on 21 July. The total turnout amounted to 49.84 per cent voters. After processing 100 percent of the ballots, the party of President Vladimir Zelensky “servant of the people” received 254 out of 450 mandates. This allows it for the first time in the history of independent Ukraine to form a single-party majority in the Parliament.
