The Russian defense Ministry has declassified documents about carrying out the Jassy-Kishinev operation in the vicinity of Chisinau. The publication is devoted to 75-anniversary of the liberation of the city from the invaders, documents posted on the Agency’s website.

Published documents with evidence of the atrocities of the invaders and the persecution of the local population for the commitment to the Soviet system, as well as materials on the celebration of the liberation of the city.
“Of particular interest to Internet users will cause an archival document containing the ultimatum of the army General Fyodor Tolbukhin the command of the 3rd Romanian army and the 9th German division, advanced after the liberation of the capital of the Moldavian Soviet socialist Republic”, — stated in the message. According to him, Soviet troops promised to save life and to ensure the safety of all who will surrender. Thus received more than 55 thousand German and Romanian soldiers.
