The new package of U.S. sanctions against Russia came into force at 00:00 Monday, August 26, in Washington, DC (07:00 GMT). The American leader Donald trump has signed the corresponding decree on 2 August.
The restrictive measures include a ban on the provision of non-Russian ruble loans to the Russian government and blocking of financial or technical assistance from international institutions. The reason for the new sanctions, the U.S. side said that Moscow has provided guarantees of non-repetition of the situation with Kripalani.
The first package of sanctions against Moscow was introduced due to the use of chemical weapons and violations of international law. He suggests a complete ban on exports to Russia of electronic devices and components of dual use. Russia also lost “any loans, credit guarantees and other financial support” by American companies.
A former GRU Colonel Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia was found unconscious on a bench in the British city of Salisbury on March 4, 2018. Experts have found that they were poisoned with nerve agent. London has accused Moscow. Russia denies involvement in the incident.
