The Ministry expects that the bill to ban the sale of alcohol to persons under the age of 21 will be accepted throughout the year. In an interview with RIA Novosti said the Minister Veronika Skvortsova.
“I don’t know, in this session or not, there is a certain sequence, but we would like to during the year it was made,” — said the official.
According to her, to introduce such a change is necessary, as it the internal organs and systems of the person most actively formed in the age from 14 till 20 years. “So, of course, it is necessary to protect them from highly concentrated alcohol in this period primarily young people”, — said Skvortsova.
Earlier, the Ministry of health has developed a bill prohibiting the sale of alcohol with an ethanol content of over 16.5 percent of persons under the age of 21. The project proposes to amend the Federal law “On state regulation of production and turnover of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products and about restriction of consumption (drinking) of alcoholic products”.
The initiative has already been supported by the Ministry of interior, Ministry of education, Ministry of education, Ministry of industry, Ministry of labor, the sports Ministry, defense Ministry, Federal service and Federal Agency for youth Affairs. The Ministry of Finance and Ministry of economic development opposed.
