The company “Yandex” has received the rights to broadcast matches of the National hockey League (NHL) for the next three seasons. It is reported by family-owned Demyan Kudryavtsev, the newspaper “Vedomosti”.
Broadcast matches of the League will start in October. The screening will be carried out on the territory of Russia free of charge — this applies to all League games, including the playoffs. The company intends to earn advertising. The broadcast of the matches will be accompanied by Russian-speaking reviews.
For Yandex, the NHL will become the second tournament, a show which the company acquired the rights. Before this, the site began to broadcast the matches of the Football national League (FNL) — the second power division championship of Russia.
“We know that the NHL was a proposal with a higher amount of money for the rights, but due to these reasons, the League chose us as a platform for broadcasting”, — said the representative of the company.
Season 2018/2019 broadcast on Eurosport. Access NHL games were subscribers to the Eurosport Gold.
