One of the three Russian officers who have died in Syria in the village of Dzhuryn, was 27-year-old Kirill Nikonov from Volgodonsk, Rostov region. He is survived by his wife and two children, according to “Notepad Volgodonsk” with reference to classmates of the deceased.
According to the publication, Nikonov buried in Volgodonsk in the old cemetery in the Alley of military Glory.
The Director of the Volgodonsk school No. 9 Svetlana Smolyar, where he studied Nikonov, confirmed owned by Grigory Berezkin RBC that the victim was a student at this school.
According to a source publication in the field of education, Nikonov joined the military after high school. The message of his death was received by relatives.

On 5 September, the Arab publication Al-Masdar News reported on the operation of Syrian militants from the organization “national liberation front”, who said the attack in the village of Dzhuryn in the area of de-escalation of Idlib on a group of Russian commandos. The militants claim that several soldiers were killed and wounded while trying to infiltrate behind enemy lines in the town of Aagaz. As it became known later, the soldiers stepped on mines on the way to the observation post.
